Botanical Studies from Norway

Forthcoming Solo Exhibition · Ål, Norway · 2027

A series of botanical studies inspired by Norwegian plant species I have grown up with and developed a close emotional relationship to through observation, memory, and time spent in nature.

The works explore the intersection between beauty, fragility, and ecological change. Many of the species portrayed are becoming increasingly rare or vulnerable due to climate change, environmental transformation, and the spread of invasive species. Through watercolor, drawing, and close botanical observation, the exhibition becomes both an act of attention and a quiet form of preservation — an attempt to honour species, landscapes, and seasonal rhythms that are slowly changing before our eyes.

Forthcoming, Ål kulturhus.

'An Ocean of What?'
Forthcoming Exhibition · Spazio Ruggine Art Gallery, Milan, Italy · 2026

A forthcoming solo exhibition on depleted oceans, ocean plastics, and jellyfish blooms as a sign of reduced marine biodiversity.

Below are selected process images from the development of the exhibition.

'Botanica in arte'
Villa Litta in Milano, October 2022

In relation to the annual celebration of historic gardens across Italy, I was invited to exhibit my botanical artwork at the baroque Villa Litta Lainate outside of Milan.

The exhibition was developed in collaboration with ALOA — The Association of Orchids of Northern Italy — which cares for the renowned orchid collection cultivated within the villa’s historic greenhouse. I was invited to create a dedicated collection of botanical works inspired by these orchids, alongside a retrospective selection of my own botanical studies.

The retrospective collection brought together works of species connected to different seasons, places, and personal memories from both Norway and Italy — reflecting my relationship with nature across landscapes, climates, and time.

I shared the exhibition space with botanical artist Olga Gino, presenting two different interpretations of botanical art. We also had the honour of welcoming the Mayor at the opening of the exhibition.
